Q&A

AM TECH EUROPE Ldt. help
Here you do find answers to often raised questions on software and hardware. In case this help is not sufficient, please visit as well http://www.pda-mobile.de as your problem might be listed there:

Q.: How do I connect the Spectrum Bluetooth Printer with my Handheld

A.: The printer is connected via a pairing. The pairing code is printed on the label of your CD-ROM, which you received together with the printer. Once your bluetooth software/wizard is asking for the pairing code, enter the code printed on the label.

Q.: Pairing is done succesfully, but I can´t print?

A.: Check the selected Comport and set the printing software under "Tools" to the serial Comport given by your BT-Manager. Now printing should be possible.

Q.: I do have a XDAII (or similar devices running PPC or Windows mobile 2003) device , but I can´t enter the alphanumeric pairing code?

A.: Do use the BT Tools, part of our CD-ROM. Install char-pin and make a warm reset of your device. Now pairing with alphanumeric pairing code is possible.

Q.: On HP Compaq PDA´s the comports can not be established?

A.: The Widcom-Bluetooth manager of HP Compaq does route BT devices regulary to same comports. If one comport is blocked by another device our printer can´t be connected. Discharge other devices, install our printer firstly and take comports 7+8 via setup routine of the printer program after pairing had been done. Than install the other devices again. They normally will use comports 3 + 4.

Q.: Under Widcomm Bluetooth Manager your printer can be seen as a bluetooth device after pairing, but no connection is possible.

A.: Double click on our device icon and normally the SP Protocol is being activated. If this does not work, do a re-installation of the software on your PDA of the Bluetooth Stack Manager. Thereafter run again the same pairing procedere. Normally the printer should be connected. No one really does know why this happens.

Q.: I have installed Printwince.NET on my PDA under PPC 2000/2002/windows mobile 2003, but no printing is taken place?

A: Discharge the program from your PDA and do follow the PPC printing installation. You installed the WinCE.Net printing routine instead of the PPC routine. Program can´t work.

Q.: My software does not run anymore on my PDA/Handheld , why?

A.: Register the software in accordance with given instructions on your CD-Rom, containing the program information under important messages

Q.: The software , which I did install does run in french (german, english, spanish ) language, but I do have a surface in english (french, german, spanish).

A.: Install the correct version of your country language and select that from the CD-Rom.

Q.: The bluetooth printer does automatically cut off the connection after 3/4 minutes, why?

A.: You received a printer version with autocut off. This function especially has been introduced in order to save battery power, as otherwise the Bluetooth module will look regulary for other devices and take power from the battery.

Q.: The printing quality is getting light grey and not black anymore?

A.: Do charge the battery on the craddle. The power on the battery is on low balance.

Q.: On IrDa printing the connection is during printing closed, why?

A.: You constantly must be in reach with the cone of the IrDA port of the printer (50-80 cm), if the printer is loosing the connection, you are out of reach. Restart printing. Take care that the connection is steady until the document has been finalized in printing.

Q.: I have loaded the PrintCE.NET printing software on my PDA under OS WinCE.NET, but it does not run, a command/part of the software is missing?

A.: Copy the mfcce211.dll from our CD-ROM (WINCE.NET folder) to your Windows of your handheld. Now the software should run.

Q.: I am using the Anycom BT R03 CF-Card with my handheld. All datas are installed correctly, but no printing is taking place?

A.: Set under Tools of our Printoffice software the controll from software to hardware. Now printing will be possible.

Q.: My printer was connected with my PDA under Bluetooth, but I can´t connect to another PDA/device.

A.: A simple rule for our printer, once connected, always connected. For safety reasons your printer can be connected only once to a Bluetooth device. In order being able to connect again, you have to reset the Bluetooth module of the printer. This is being done by a selftest. Press the on button, release it and press straight again and hold the button until the selftest is starting. By this selftest the old Bluetooth connection is released. Now you can pair with another device again. Warning, do not make this selftest when you have a steady connection, which you don´t want to loose. If you do it you have to re-pair again. The old pairing is lost.
